Vence Meneely became licensed in Feb 2010 as a Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator in Oklahoma, scoring a perfect 100% on the lifetime test. Later in 2010 he became a licensed NWCO in Kansas, scoring a 96%.
He has been a trapper for over 45 years, starting at 11 years old running trap lines before and after school. He did that for ten years, water trapping and specializing in muskrat, mink, and coon. From 1980 until he started doing nuisance work he specialized specifically in predator work.
He does most of the initial inspections and all of the bids for cleanup, exclusion work,
construction. He is out in the field every day dealing with human/wildlife issues.
Vence has put on a trapping demonstration for a local Kay County 4H Club.
Vence is a Scout Master for a local Traditional Scouting troop and participates in the
Scout Trappers Rendezvous every year held in Newton, Kansas.
Early summer of 2011 is when Sonya received her NWCO license, scoring a 97% on the Oklahoma
lifetime test. Sonya not only runs the office but works in the field as much as possible. She does most of the
typing of proposals and invoicing jobs. She also does some gopher and mole accounts on her own
and helps with bigger jobs when two technicians are needed. She has gained most of her hands on knowledge from Vence.
Since becoming licensed as an NWCO, she has also started writing articles for Professional Wildlife Control Magazine, a national trade publication: having written three articles so far. She has also been published in American Trapper and has
transcribed podcasts for Robb Russell’s, Wildlife Pro Network.
Some commercial accounts we have done so far are pigeon trapping for FAA out of
Oklahoma City. We did a large bird control job for Holder-Flint-Co in the construction of
the Devon Tower in Oklahoma City. We’ve done a four-year-long pigeon control work on a
monthly basis for Smith Bits in Ponca City. We’ve done Commercial Work for Phillips
Refinery and Continental Carbon, both in Ponca City and pigeon control for OneOk in Medford, Oklahoma. We did bird control work on grass
seed planted by the City of Ponca City. Additionally, a couple of local pest control
companies refer us for all of their vertebrae work.
We do lots of small jobs also, from a dead animal removal to a skunk taking up residence
under a porch. Vence has put on a trapping demonstration for a local Kay County 4H Club.
